SP Weather Station

Reports

SP Weather Reports are portfolios published annually in 2008-2013 by SP Weather Station. Each year, twelve artists (or artist groups), one per month, were invited to ‘report’ on the weather data taken by the SPWS rooftop station, installed on the roof of Flux Factory in Long Island City. This open-ended assignment was interpreted strictly or loosely; artists created prints, booklets, drawings, audio files, photos and video. The reports are produced in an edition of 30 (or more) and collated to yearly archival enclosures.

SPWS reports portfolios have been placed in many public and private collections. At least one portfolio of the six is in the following institutional collections: The Center for Book Arts, New York; Denison University; Duke University; Massachusetts College of Art, Godine Library Artist Book Collection; Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Nevada Museum of Art Center for Art + Environment Archives Collections; Otis College of Art & Design; Pratt Institute Library; SUNY Purchase College Library; University of Utah Fine Arts Library; University of California, Berkeley, Environmental Design Library, Special Collections; Virginia Commonwealth University Library.
